Create a tablespace for dictionary management

create tablespace james datafile '/opt/oradata/orcl/james01.dbf' size 50 M,       '/opt/oradata/orcl/james02.dbf' size 50 M         minimum extent 50k extent management dictionary        default storage (initial 50k next 50k maxextents 100 pctincrease 0);

ORA-12913, unable to create dictionary managed tablespace
Because starting from 9.2, if the tablespace of the SYSTEM is LOCAL management, ORACLE cannot create a tablespace for dictionary management. In this case, remove extent management dictionary.

View tablespaces

select tablespace_name,block_size,extent_management,segment_space_management from dba_tablespaces;

View tablespace files

select file_id,file_name,tablespace_name from dba_data_files order by file_id;

Create a locally managed tablespace

create tablespace james_index  datafile '/opt/oradata/orcl/james_index.dbf' size 50 M     extent management local    uniform size 1M
