Oracle uses ORDER BY ordering about null value handling

Source: Internet
Author: User

When using order by for query sorting in Oracle, if there is a null value in the sort field (null), the sort result may not be the result we want. Such as:

Sort by the age field in descending order, the result is as follows:

Change the SQL statement to

SELECT * FROM-Test order BY-age DESC-nulls last;
null values can be queued to the end. "Nulls last" puts the null value behind, and the opposite "nulls first" puts the null record in front

Oracle defaults to null maximum.

In ascending order, by default, the null value is sorted back.

The descending sort, by default, is preceded by a null value.
