VirtualBox comes with an enhanced tools Sun VirtualBox Guest Additions, which is the key to sharing virtual machines with real hosts. After starting the virtual machine, click on the Control menu "Device" → "installation enhancements", you can see the installation interface of the program
However, many times, users will find that clicking on "Install Enhancements" doesn't make any response. If this is the case, then the program installation file is not configured for the sake of. Click on the Control menu "Device" → "Assign optical drive" → "virtual CD-ROM", you can find a CD-ROM image file named "Vboxguestadditions.iso", double-click the file to load the virtual CD-ROM. Load the ISO image file. Next, the user opens "My Computer" in the virtual machine and then double-clicks on the optical drive to install the enhancement tool properly.
- Allocate data space
Next, we set up the folders in the host that are shared with the virtual machines. Click on the Control menu "devices" → "Shared Folders". Enter the dialog box to add a new data space, set the "Data Space location" When you must click the drop-down list, select "Other". This will make it possible to locate the folders in the Folder List and return them after selecting the folders that need to be shared. Tick the "Fixed allocation" option, and now we can see the shared hosts folder in the Data Space list.
- Map Network drives
Now that we have access to the Hosts folder in the form of "Network Places", it is cumbersome to do so, and we use the form of "mapped net drives" for quick access. Open "My Computer" in the virtual machine, click on the menu "tools" → "Map Network Drive", enter and specify the drive letter first. Next, click the Browse button and find "VirtualBox shared Folders" in the "Entire Network" tree list, where the address under the folder tree is the host shared folder set in data space. Select the directory you want to map, and click "OK" to return. Once the mapping is complete, visit my computer again and you can see the mapped network drive
