In the Windows 7 Security Oracle Client12C when the problem encountered INS-20802Oracle Net Configuration Assistant loss problem, Baidu many have not said a good solution.

Symptoms

InstallActions. log says

Cause

Oracle 12c Installer setup has Wrong value in file install/oraparam. ini for MSVCREDIST_LOC

From oraparam. ini

# MSVCREDIST_LOC flag will provide the name of the exe that is being shipped in stage/ext/bin

Msvcredist_loc1_vcredist_x64.exe indicates that the Installer has missed the zookeeper value. We open install/uninstall, so this problem occurs.

Solution

Installation of Oracle Net Configuration Assitant requires Microsoft C ++ 2010 Redistributable (vcredist_x86.exe). If RTL is missing then Installation will fails with error message [INS-20802] Oracle Net Configuration Assitant failed"

Oracle 12C 32 bit client Installer shocould install the RTL automatically during the installation. however the oraparam. ini has wrong value for MSVCREDIST_LOC (Instead of vcredist_x86.exe) so installer fails to install RTL that is reason for installation of configuation Assitant to fail.

Follow the below instructions to resolve the issue.

1. Install Microsoft C ++ 2010 Redistributable (vcredist_x86.exe) from the Installer location X: \ client32 \ stage \ ext \ bin

This means to install the file named \ client32 \ stage \ ext \ binxiance.vcredist_x86.exe first.

2. Now click on retry

It's perfect to repeat security.

Note: For avoiding the issue during the installation, edit the value for msvcredist_loc1_vcredist_x86.exe inoraparam. ini

You can also directly upgrade msvcredist_loc1_vcredist_x86.exe to avoid this.
