Using the edit command, you can copy the contents of the Sql*plus buffer into a file named Afiedt.buf, and then launch the default editor in the operating system to open the file, and the contents of the file can be edited. In the Windows operating system, the default editor is Notepad (Notepad).

The syntax is as follows:

Edit[file_name]

where file_name defaults to Afied.buf, you can also specify additional files.

For example, there is a query.sql file in my e drive, and the contents of the file are

SELECT * FROM Dept

/

In the Sql*plus window, enter the following:

This will bring up the following window, which is the original content, we can edit it here,


Enter a SELECT statement, and then use the command edit directly,

Pop-up Afiedt. BUF window, we can edit it here
