OSPF rip STP Trill

OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) is affiliated with IGP (Internal Gateway Protocol)Used for decision routing in a single autonomous system. It is an implementation of the link status routing protocol.

OSPF is an open version of SPF routing protocol.

Note that OSPF is used in the same routing domain, or an autonomous system. All intra-domain routes maintain databases with the same data and store the status information of corresponding links in the routing domain.

Other concepts involved, such as Dr and BDR, are common and are standard election and coordination models. The status migration of each switch also has a corresponding state machine. Different networks have different optimization techniques, which are all practical issues and will not be repeated.

Rip is a distance vector protocol.. Similar types include IGRP, VPN, and BGP. BGP is also called the path vector protocol.

Unlike OSPF, OSPF is a central control protocol, and rip is a neighbor transfer protocol. In contrast, rip looks simpler because its logic is simple. However, in the actual environment, rip needs to adapt a lot to avoid loops and other problems, and the path convergence speed and Packet Volume need to be balanced.

STP is a vswitch-oriented protocol., Similar to OSPF, but much simpler (because L2 Networks are simpler), there are also root bridge, Root
Ports and designated ports. At the beginning of the bridge, assume that you are the root, and then update it when sending the BPDU, and use the bridge with the minimum bid as the root.

Disadvantage: it is designed for small networks. It takes too long for STP negotiation to start a large network, especially in virtualization scenarios. STP does not have redundant paths, which means many paths may not be optimal, which is not conducive to migration and network performance.

Trill is generated to solve STP performance problems. The main solution is to use the Link Status Protocol Isis and use SPF to calculate the path to each nickname. Each rbridge maintains a complete network topology and multiple tables.
