Overview of new features in AutoCAD 2014

The official Chinese version of AutoCAD 2014 has been released. Let's take a look at some new features in the new version. Only a small part is mentioned here, which will inevitably fall short. For more information, see this document.

 

Smart Command Line

You can not only search by the START letter of a command, but also by searching the characters in the middle of the command. For example, if I enter ine, all commands containing ine will be listed, such as Line, of course, AutoCAD guessed that you are more likely to be looking for INETLOCATION and will help you automatically complete it. In addition, pay attention to the question mark and the Earth mark after the command. If you are not clear about the usage of a command, click the two buttons to enable online help or Google search.

Connecting to cloud services-design overview

Connect to cloud service-Autodesk 360

Each user can obtain an Autodesk ID for free, which is used to connect to the Autodesk 360 cloud service. You can set your AutoCAD environment and save your drawings on the Autodesk 360 cloud. When you switch the machine, AutoCAD automatically synchronizes your custom settings to the current machine, make every machine so easy to use. In addition, with the Autodesk 360 cloud service, local AutoCAD can work closely with AutoCAD WS!

Like in Chrome and other browsers, you can easily switch documents through the Tab card.

 

Enhancement of Layer Management

The layer name is now sorted by number order and other minor improvements will not be mentioned. With the addition of a layer merging function, you can merge objects on multiple layers to another layer, the object on the original layer is automatically purge.

 

Ultra-Large Point Clouds

Add a new module, Autodesk ReCap, To AutoCAD. ReCap indicates Reality capture. You can use ReCap to obtain the point cloud data from a 3D Scanner and import it to AutoCAD. The point cloud can be a small table, a building, or even a city. The Autodesk ReCap module supports most cloud point data formats, including Faro, Leica, and Lidar, and is shared with other Autodesk software such as Revit. For ReCap, the point cloud function of AutoCAD is also enhanced. You can read the point cloud data processed by ReCap and perform operations such as style.

 

Geographic Positioning

With the geo-location function of AutoCAD, you can insert Bing map into AutoCAD as a map, so that you can design it in a more realistic environment. What is lacking in the United States is that everything will go out in the tianchao dynasty. Because AutoCAD uses the Bing Map International Edition, there will be an offset in China. We hope that the subsequent versions will be able to switch to the Bing Map Chinese version, Baidu maps, AMAP, and other localized Map services to solve the Map offset problem.
