The Wireless AP mode, also known as the Infrastructure model (Infrastructure), consists of Wireless Access Node AP), wireless workstation STA) and distributed system DSS, the covered area is called the basic service area (BSS ). All wireless communication is handled and completed by the AP, enabling connection from the wired network to the wireless terminal. Based on the functions of AP, WLAN can achieve different networking modes based on the needs of different network environments. Currently, the AP on the market supports six network modes: Wireless AP mode, point-to-point bridging mode, point-to-point bridging mode, AP Client mode, hybrid mode, and Wireless Repeater mode.

1) Wireless AP Mode

In AP client mode, a computer connected to a Wireless AP can only connect to the AP in wired mode, but cannot connect to the AP in wireless mode.

An AP is a unified wireless working group, so its SSID must be the same, and other authentication and encryption modes must be set in the same way. Because the same or adjacent channels interfere with each other, it is necessary to use different channels for the adjacent AP. It not only expands the wireless coverage, but also provides redundancy protection in the signal overlapping areas, and is relatively simple to set, so it is widely used.
