Some students say that they may not be able to use English for their whole life when they study at a university in a remote place, and there is no need to learn English. English accounts for most of the information on the Internet. English is an international language. It does not belong to the UK or the United States any more.

When I was a Chinese, I spoke Chinese English, do not think that everyone in the UK speaks BBC English. Therefore, if you want to speak fluent English, you must abandon your inferiority and speak bravely.



2. Key to learning English efficiently: reading more news



Low learning efficiency is another cause of poor English learning. Many people think that they are learning English every day, but the actual effect is quite different from expectation. This is also related to study habits: not persistent enough. Language learning takes a long time to infiltrate. The most critical point is persistence. If a person is eager for quick success and fails to learn effectively in a month or two, he will lose his motivation for learning, and he will make a mistake in language learning. If he does not learn English for six consecutive months, he will surely forget only one thing he has learned. What's more, two years after my sophomore year passed the CET4 test, I will not study English any more. When I wait for my postgraduate entrance exam to start learning again, I will definitely start again at that time, and my learning efficiency will definitely be low. Low learning efficiency cannot be totally blamed on students, in part because teaching materials do not interest students. Once you open a book, the topic is boring. So I said that learning materials must be timely, current, or vivid. I am opposed to quick English because English cannot be learned overnight. It is not an overnight miracle. English is going to be used. You need to use your English. This is also different from practical English. The former is dynamic, while the latter is static.
