The Oracle tutorial you are looking at is the Setup method for PB7 connecting Oracle.
System environment:
1, operating system: Windows 2000
2. Database: Oracle 8i R2 (8.1.6) for NT Enterprise Edition
3, Installation path: C:\ORACLE
Access method:
1. First install Oracle client application to ensure Oracle network connectivity
Configure C:\Oracle\Ora81\network\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora files,
Create a database alias to connect to the server
Note:
Server-side Oracle database instance name: ORADB
Server-side IP address: 192.1.1.1
Confirm that you can use the System/manager@test1 connection on the client Sql*plus
2, open PB7
Edit, configure DB profile
On the Oracle database interface, click "New"
Profile Name: Free up an easy to remember name server: Add Database alias Login ID: Server-side Oracle database user name Password: User password
Click "OK" when you have added the above picture.
With the mouse to select the newly established "TO_ORADB", and then click "Connect" to test the connection
If the bottom left of the screen appears as shown in the following illustration, the connection is successful
