Currently, wireless Internet access is primarily based on China Unicom's CDMA and mobile GPRS. No matter which carrier's wireless Internet access service is used, the following steps are taken: apply for wireless Internet access service in the business office and receive a SIM card) → insert a SIM card into the wireless network adapter → install the wireless network adapter on the laptop → install the Wireless Network Adapter Driver → dial-up Internet access.

Wireless Network Adapter configuration 1. Apply for wireless Internet access service

The main reason is to apply for a SIM card for wireless Internet access in the Business Office. This card is no different from the SIM card used by the mobile phone. You can also apply for a corresponding package. Then, you can purchase a wireless network card in the business office, you can also purchase it by yourself. For the materials required for handling this business, please consult the nearest business office.

First of all, it should be noted that the wireless network adapter for the laptop is mainly PCMIA card and USB card, so there are two types of plug-in SIM.

1. Install SIM card for USB wireless network card

The SIM card slot of the wireless network card of the USB interface is generally located at the back. It is basically the same as the SIM card slot of the mobile phone, so it is relatively easy to install.

2. Install SIM card on the wireless network card of PCMIA

Generally, the SIM slots are on the narrow side of the PCMIA card. Open the back cover and insert them at the SIM gap position.

First, insert the driver installation CD that comes with the wireless network card. In general, the installation disc will be put into the light drive, and the optical disk will automatically run. Click the setup.exe file under the installation directory to install it. The installation process is similar to that of general software. During Driver Installation, you must note that USB interfaces can be inserted into the USB port of the laptop for installation, while PCMIA interfaces are recommended to start the installation program of the hardware driver first. When you are prompted to insert a PCMIA card, then insert the wireless network card, which ensures the installation is successful. The following uses the installation of the PCMIA card driver as an example. The steps given in this example may differ from those given in your PCMIA, but they are in the same order.

1. The installation welcome page appears. Click "Next" to start installation.

2. Click "Next" according to the default settings for the next steps, and then install the package in the specified folder and restart the computer.

3. Insert the wireless network adapter into the PCMCIA slot of the laptop. The system will prompt you to find the new hardware and install the driver.

4. Select search driver file and click "Next.

5. Insert the software CD and click "Next.

6. Then, the system will search for and install the driver file from the selected path, and then click "finish.

After the software driver is installed, the dial-up program icon of the wireless network card is automatically generated on the desktop, you can also use the "Network Connection Wizard" provided by Windows to create a dial-up connection.

Double-click this icon and enter the corresponding number in a field similar to "dial-in Number". Note: The dial-in number of China Mobile GPRS network users is "* 99 #", the dial-up number of China Unicom CDMA users is "#777". the user name and password should also be noted: the account and password of China Mobile GPRS users do not need to be filled in, the accounts and passwords of China Unicom CDMA users are "card". After the configuration is complete, click "dial" or "access" to start wireless Internet access!
