chmod

Change permissions for a file: chmod [mode] File.txt
Change permissions for a directory: chmod [mode] Dir
Change permissions for a directory and its subdirectories: chmod [mode] Dir-r

mode = 777 or 752 and so on.
The three digits of mode, respectively, indicate the permissions that Owner,group,others has.
1=x execution
2=w Write
4=r Read
For example, owner has all permissions, 1+2+4=7, such as group has read and execute permissions 1+4=5.

Change the owner of a file or directory

-r parameter indicates recursive change

#chown [-r] Account name file or directory

#chown [-r] Account name: User group name file or directory
