For designers who just regard design as their own meal tool, it is believed that as long as there is enough common sense, you can mix it decently; but for the person who designs the design as their own pursuit, it is necessary to turn more common sense into knowledge.

In the beginning, all that is available is industry common sense (except for the system knowledge we learned in college); As long as common sense is rich enough, as a qualified designer poke more than, but to be a good designer, but to become an excellent stylist, but must turn some common sense into knowledge. Common sense can only prevent a designer from making a low-level mistake:

Common sense is often the conclusion of the content, or other people have used the method, the biggest advantage is that has been verified many times, at least not wrong very outrageous, so many friends directly use these. But common sense is often only the conclusion, and is the past conclusion, to solve the problems encountered now, it is difficult to determine whether it is appropriate, and the role of knowledge is to determine applicability.

Bingshu, the Art of war, is almost a textbook that no military commander must read, the above is also a good common sense, in accordance with the above methods to lead, there will be no major fault, but if only to follow the content of the above, will not become a good generals; again, we can see that An officer's school can produce a batch of lieutenant and petty officers, but it will not produce a general, (although many generals are graduated from the Military academy, but they are fed by the blood of soldiers).

In the same way, design common sense can only tell a designer, this design does not make a low-level error, but can not tell the designer how to make a suitable design; In the registration page to do more and more simple today, the registration page content less, function single is a common sense, this design, can not say there is no big mistake But Facebook, happy, and so on SNS website registration page, is the registration needs to fill in the birthday, gender, real name and so on information. If the designers of these websites are also designed according to common sense, it is likely that there is no difference from the registration page of the traditional website. In contrast, Twitter, Sina Weibo is also a SNS Web site, and it came after Facebook, according to common sense at the time, should be more similar to Facebook registration page, but these sites have abandoned these several fill in the project. 2, common sense often lacks the prerequisite and the additional condition, the knowledge is adds these conditions the ability.
3, contrary to common sense of the design is generally wrong; the role of knowledge is to increase in the special circumstances of the design of the anti-common sense of the user needs, the second is in the increase in the absence of common sense can be based on the situation, make a relatively appropriate design of the probability.

To turn common sense into knowledge:

From my personal opinion, a designer's understanding system should also be 80% common sense, 20% knowledge. But this does not mean that as long as you know more about one aspect of common sense, these common sense will automatically become knowledge.

Most of the designers in the Book club share the way to get information, the information that these methods can obtain is also very rich, but the information obtained is mostly common sense, only a very small part of it is knowledge;

Here's a military example: a lot of generals, I have seen all the Bingshu, but there is no achievement, and some young generals, (many in ancient China), even a bingshu have not read, but can achieve the exploits of the world, which has the elements of luck, but more is the understanding of the war situation or an understanding of the cause and effect of the entries recorded by Bingshu.

The choice of what common sense into knowledge is the first step, excluding interest, suggest in their career direction, choose the most closely related common sense into knowledge; (I suggest, interest and professional direction coincide). From the point of view of information acquisition, I propose to build a focus on the subscription to get the list, rather than create a large list, the content of the average acquisition, in a busy time, can only be obtained immediately.

The next step is to learn more about the context of common sense, in the Internet industry, for most common sense, than the traditional industry is much easier, as long as careful enough, enough attention, most of the site can get a lot of information; Register vest, observe changes, intercept pages, these means are commonly used by friends of the means, There's not much to say here.

Finally, through the information obtained, as much as possible to carry out a number of analysis and prediction, in fact, if you can achieve the level of the above, the ability to analyze and solve problems already have, but in contrast, from the results to find the reason is relatively easy, and from the phenomenon of predicting the result is relative The above step is to find a prerequisite for the results of the method, if not forecast, it is difficult to verify their own analysis method is correct, when the correct rate of prediction to a certain extent, such analysis can even become an intuition.

This point, our high school exam is very clear, many people read a lot of reference books, do a lot of exercises, but the ability to solve the problem is not very outstanding, and some people, reference books are not many, the topic is not much, but the idea of solving the problem.
