The increase in system capacity may be compared with the absence of soft switching, because if there is no soft switching, the transmit power of UE at the edge of the Cell will inevitably increase. First, whether the Sir threshold can be satisfied will not be satisfied, the interference to neighboring cells is certainly increased a lot. For downlink, because downlink power is limited, the transmit power of the base station determines the capacity, soft Switching reduces the link power to the edge users of the residential area, so that the base station has more power margin.
