When shooting people with the scene, if the contrast is too large or backlighting scenes, then often is not the background too bright, is the characters too dark. The background is too bright photo because there is no detail, we will probably not take the time to deal with;
But the characters are too dark pictures, but may also be saved.
Photoshop itself has a "shadow/light" tool that can be used to reduce contrast, but I don't think it works well enough. So in the example below, I'll add a few more programs to handle the details of the shadows,
So that the processed photos look just as natural as straight out.

Using this method to brighten the shaded area, not only makes the characters more clear, there is no strange contrast and color, than the simple use of "Shadow/light" tool to adjust the more natural.
After opening the picture, press the quick key ctrl+j two times, copy two background layer "Layer 1" and "Layer 1 copy". Then click the eye icon next to the background layer to temporarily close the background layer.
Select "image → adjust → shadow/light" from the main menu to open the Shadow/Light section Adjustment window.
