1. Open an image file. As shown in the following illustration:
If necessary, read the Photoshop CS6 to open the file.
2. Select the "Filter" menu, click the "Filter Gallery" command, open the Filter Gallery dialog box, click on the "Art effects" filter group, in the Drop-down list, click the "Rough crayon" filter. As shown in the following illustration:
Stroke Length: Sets the length of the brush to depict the line. The larger the value, the longer the line.
Stroke Details: Sets the delicate degree of the rough crayon. The greater the value, the more obvious the details are depicted.
Textures: Sets the type of build texture. The Drop-down list on the right includes 4 texture types such as brick, burlap, canvas, and sandstone. You can also click on the right side of the option
button to load one. PSD format file as a texture file.
Scaling: Sets the size of the texture smaller. The larger the value, the larger the texture.
Highlights: Sets the texture of the concave and convex degree. The greater the value, the stronger the image's sense of prominence.
Lighting: Sets the illumination direction of the light source.
Invert: Select the item to reverse the concave and convex regions of the texture.
3. After setting the options in the dialog box, click on the "OK" button to apply the "rough crayon" filter to the image. As shown in the following illustration:
Tips
When you use the filter, in a bright area, the crayon looks thick, almost invisible, and in a dark area, the crayon appears to be erased and the texture will show.
When you modify a parameter in a dialog box, if you hold down the ALT key, the Cancel button in the dialog box becomes the Reset button, and clicking the reset button restores the parameter to its original state.
