If you are a user of Windows Vista, you may be familiar with the image, or you can see it in some of their wallpaper or screensavers. In this PS tutorial, I will show you how to create this effect yourself. The Vista lighting effect, sometimes called the Aurora effect, can actually make an ordinary wallpaper a little more special. How to make this easier to implement. Just follow these simple steps to complete! (This tutorial is the basis of PS light effect, need to learn and understand)
Final Effect
Step 1
Before we start to do the lighting effect, we need to create a light background. We cannot simply use any background of our choice, but to create a suitable canvas. Locate the photo as a background (using the base palette, without modification). It can be any image ... Just make sure there's a lot of light and shadows in the picture.
Step 2
Here, we need to apply a very strong Gaussian blur in Ps. Enter filter > Blur > Gaussian blur, move slider to very high value. You can get rid of all the details in the picture and have all the shades of the mesh blur. I applied a Gaussian blur of 75.
Step 3
Now, we will completely change our background, add the color balance adjustment layer. Create this layer, go to layer > new adjust layer > color balance. This "New layer" dialog box pops up, just click OK. Next, you'll see 3 different sliders, representing 3 different ranges of choices (shadows, midtones, high light). At this point, you try to move the slider on every range until you find a suitable result. If you are using the pictures I provided, these are the values I set: Shadows: -37,-40,7; midtones: 15,62,0; Highlights: -34,0,69.
