PhotoShop Knockout Filter Cutout method

In the process of using Photoshop to process pictures, it is often necessary to use the "pull out" method to separate objects from the background, which is a very important and should be mastered technology. There are many ways to "pull the map", for example, the use of magic wand and lasso tools of the primary pull-and mask-pull, channel-pull, path-pulling, extraction filters, and other advanced techniques, these methods are either the effect is not good, or difficult for beginners too large.

Today will introduce a Corel company produced classic pull Tool knockout, currently the latest version of 2.0. Once launched, Knockout 2.0 was well received because it solved the headaches of digging up the puzzle and making it easy and easy to make a dull drawing. Knockout 2.0 can not only meet the common need to pull, but also to smoke, shadows and messy hair to dig, even transparent objects can be easily dug out. Even if you are new to Photoshop, you can easily pull out complex graphics, and the contours of the natural, accurate, fully meet your needs.

The version prior to Knockout 2.0 is used as a stand-alone software, and the current version must be used as a Photoshop filter plug-in. As for the installation method and other plug-in filters, here is no longer to repeat. This paper takes the Chinese version of Knockout 2.0 as an example to illustrate.

First, the interface introduction

After installing Knockout 2.0, start Photoshop, open the photo you want to work on, and then copy the photo to a copy layer in the Layers panel. Maintain the operation status in the replica layer, and perform the "filter/knockout/load Working Layer ..." menu command to open Knockout and its interface as shown in Figure 1.

1. Menu bar

The menu bar includes files, edits, views, selection areas, Windows, and help points.

The File menu includes commands such as Save scheme, save image Mask, save shadow mask, restore, and apply.

The Edit menu includes commands such as Undo, redo, process, and parameter selection. The processing command is used to process images and display images after the background is removed, and the Parameter selection dialog box allows you to set the description of the disk, recovery key, undo level, and image cache, and so on, as shown in Figure 2.

You can set how you want to view objects in the View menu, as shown in Figure 3. You can set view originals, output current results, output final results, and alpha channels. Alternatively, you can set whether to hide internal objects, external objects, inner shadows, external shadows, syringes, and edge feathering.

In the Select Area menu, you can set selection or deselect selections, and so on, the Window menu controls which panels, toolbars, and zoom or zoom out display.

2. Tool bar

The toolbar is located on the left side of the interface, including all the tools used to pull the diagram, as shown in Figure 4.

There are 10 tool buttons on the top of the toolbar, and we'll explain what they mean from top to bottom, left to right. The first button in the upper-left corner is the internal object tool, use it to draw the inner selection line of an object; the upper-right corner button is the external Object tool, which allows you to draw an object's outer selection line, and an internal and external shadow object tool below the two buttons, using them to draw the inner and outer selection lines of the shadow; And then down for the internal syringe and edge feather tool, the syringe tool can be an object's internal or external complementary color, and the edge feather tool can fix some object or shadow edge defects.

Use the Polish Brush tool to restore the foreground image and use the polishing eraser tool to erase the background image. The hand tool can move the position of the image in the canvas, and the magnifying glass tool can zoom the display image.

Click the bottom Color button to select the background colors from the palette. Click on the image button below to select an image to use as a background to pull out the picture.

In the "Details" section you can set different levels to improve the quality of the cutout, the larger the number, the more accurate the extracted image.

The bottom button is the processing and output image button, and when you set the parameters and selection of the pull chart, click this button to start processing the cutout.

3. Selection Line display status panel

Display the status panel for the selection line on the right side of the software interface, as shown in Figure 5. Use it to control whether the corresponding selection line is displayed in the canvas.

The display state that controls the inner selection line, the outer selection line, the inner shadow, the external shadow, the internal syringe, and the edge feather, respectively, from top to bottom. When an option is selected, the selection line for that option is displayed in the canvas.
