Photoshop makes lifelike white feathers

Let's take a look at the completion effect.

First create a new 800*600 file in Photoshop with a background filled with black. Then create a new layer. Draw a sketch of the feather with a pen and save it as a path.

Fill White

Create a new layer, or use a pen to draw a feather stalk. and fill in 50% gray.

And then use the pen to draw 3 of the shape of the figure, where I lazy oh, so one show out. 3 are saved as paths respectively.

Then press the Ctrl-point path, turn to the selection, on the feather layer on the back of space to delete, make feather defect effect.

Now create a new document with a transparent background and a magnifying glass for maximum. Use a 1-pixel pen (pencil) to make a few points. Then edit--Custom brush, save brush. This paintbrush will be a tool to paint feathers in the future.

Now back to the feather document, with the Smudge tool, the pattern is normal, the strength between 70 and 80 is more suitable. The nib is set to just the custom brush, with a diameter of 5 to 7, and a spacing of 25, as shown.

Now start smearing the edges of the feathers. Here to be careful, patience, according to the direction of the feather to apply, not only from the inside out, can also be from the outside of the map, the production of feathers defects effect.

Then use the brush very casually in the feather root painted white.

Or use our custom brushes to smear. The strength is 70. I'm too big here, don't be as big as me. It's best to paint it like a ball of fur.

Then switch to 1 like the first one. Remember, the pressure here is 90. Then separate the hair out, where the demand to be painted cleanly, smooth enough.

Also modify the feather in the same way.

Then there's the feather Terrier. Use the deepening and dodge tools to paint shadows to reflect the three-dimensional. I don't paint very well here, I rely on everyone to be patient. Just have the patience to do it.

Because the feathers are white and the feather stems are beige, we adjust the hue/saturation of the layer. Press Ctrl+u. Hook-and-choose coloring. Set as shown in figure.

Press Ctrl+e to combine feather and feather stems two layers. Then in the feather with the ministry or use the above method to coat feathers, cover a little feather terrier.

And then roughly adjust the color, plus a gradient background, a beautiful feather is done!
