Photoshop Mask Pro Filter Cutout method

Mask Pro is another cutout tool, produced by Ononesoftware, a company based in Portland, USA Oregon State. The latest official releases are 3.0.1 (Windows operating system) and 3.0.2 (MAC OS X operating system), and if mask Pro is installed under Windows operating systems, it requires a system version of Windows 2000 or Windows XP SP2. If you are installing under the Mac operating system and you need a version of Mac OS X 10.3.9-10.4.6, this article is illustrated with the Mask Pro 3.0 version of the Windows XP SP2 operating system. Introduction of some tools and panels

The Mask Pro 3 installation method is the same as the installation method for other filters, which is no longer described here. After the correct installation of Mask Pro 3, a extensis menu option is available under the Photoshop Filter menu, Mask Pro is located under this option.

Before using the Mask Pro cutout, you must copy the picture to a new copy layer or convert the locked background layer to a normal layer, because the open picture by default exists as a locked background layer, and Mask Pro cannot edit the locked layer.

Make sure that the currently operating layer is a picture layer that needs to be pulled, and then perform the "Filter/extensis/mask Pro 3" menu command to start Mask Pro 3, which has an operating interface as shown in Figure 1.

The Mask Pro 3 interface can be divided into menu bars, toolbars, tool parameter settings, retention color panel, discard color panel, and workspace sections. The commands included in the menu bar are some common commands, for example, save, restore, view and edit, there is no detailed description of how the menu bar is used, only some of the other tools and panels in this article are introduced, and some other tools in the following text need to be used in place to explain.

On the left side of the software interface is the Mask Pro 3 toolbar, which includes 16 tools, as shown in Figure 2 on the left. We introduce each tool in order from top to bottom and from left to right. Color eyedropper tool, discard color eyedropper tool, retention tool, discard tool, magic Brush tool, brush tool, magic Fill tool, fill tool, magic wand tool, airbrush tool, chisel tool, Blur tool, magic Pen tool, pen tool , hand grasping tools and scaling tools.

An important concept of Mask Pro cutout is to preserve and discard colors, and the software will automatically pick up objects by preserving the color and discarding the color we set. The color eyedropper tool and the discard color eyedropper tool are used to absorb different colors in a picture to determine which colors to keep or discard, and when you click the drawing color on the picture, the color is displayed in the appropriate reserved or discarded color panel, as shown in Figure 3.

The retention and discard tools, which allow you to draw a range of colors in the image that you want to keep or discard separately, and, when the tool is selected, display the option to set the brush size in the tool parameters panel, as shown in Figure 4.

Two, use the retention color and discard the color tool to pull the diagram instance

After understanding the retention and discard tools, we can start to do some simple pull-back operations, the following is an example of a cutout to illustrate the specific procedures.

First use Photoshop to open a picture, as shown in Figure 5. Drag the background layer to the Create new Layer button on the Layers panel, create a background copy layer, and then execute the filter/extensis/mask Pro 3 menu command to start Mask Pro 3.
