Replace color
Using the Replace color command in an image, you can temporarily create a mask and replace the colors. Masks allow you to isolate an area of the image, so these changes only affect the area you just selected and do not affect other regions. The options in the Replace Color Command dialog box allow you to adjust the hue, saturation, and brightness components of the selected area. Hue (Hue) is the color, saturation (saturation) is the color of the single, brightness is in the image contains how many white or black.
We now use the Replace color command to change the color of the red-orange canopy in the lower-right corner of the image.
1. In the Layer palette, select the background.
2. Select the Zoom tool() and click on the cloth to enlarge it.
3. Use the mouse button on the cropping tool to maintain, then drag to the rectangular marquee tool, and then make a selection around the cloth. Don't worry about making a perfect choice, but you must include all the cloth, as shown below:
4. Choose Image > Adjust > Replace color to open the Replace Colors dialog box. As the default, the selection area of the Replace dialog box displays a black rectangle that represents the current selection.
We are now using the Color Picker tool (eyedropper) to select the color area that will be masked and replaced. There are three color picker tools displayed in the Replace Color dialog box.
A. Select single color B. Add to Selection
C. Reduction from selection
The first picker tool () selects a single color, the Eyedropper-plus tool () is used to add color to the selector, and the Eyedropper-minustool () is used to reduce color from a selector.
5. Click the Color Picker tool in the dialog box and click on the Orange cloth and select it.
6. Then select the Eyedropper-plus tool and drag on the other area of the cloth until the entire cloth is highlighted in white in the dialog box.
7. Move the Blur slider to adjust the tolerance of the mask to 61. The degree of ambiguity controls the color correlation in which masks.
8. In the Replacement Color dialog box, in the conversion area, drag the tonal slider to 149, the saturation slider to-17, the Brightness slider to-39. The color of the cloth is replaced by the new hue, saturation and brightness.
