Photoshop special effects: transparent mosaic

This effect is mainly combined with the use of fuzzy, mosaic, sharpening and other filters, a few simple steps to make a beautiful effect, we may wish to study how to make their own like the unique effect.

1th Step

Press CTRL + N to create a new graphics file, wide 300px, high 120px, black background. Then use white to write down the text you want to make on the graphic. As shown in Figure 1.

Right-click on the type layer and select Rasterize layer to convert the text layer to a normal layer. Then select Filter/blur/gaussian to make the graphic a little blurry. As shown in Figure 2.

2nd Step

Select the text layer and press CTRL + E to merge the layer with the background layer. Then select Layer/duplicate layer to copy the layer. Select the copied layer (ensure that the layer being copied is above the original layer), select Filter/pixelate/mosaic, and select cell size 10 on the pop-up panel, as shown in Figure 3.

3rd Step

On the layer panel, select the layer to be copied and select Opacity as 50%, as shown in Figure 4.

Select three times Filter/sharpen/sharpen to sharpen it. As shown in Figure 5.

4th step

Select the copied layer, press CTRL + E, merge the two layers, the operation of the result is basically done. If you want to add color to this effect, please press image/adjustments/hue/satursation, select Colorize in the pop-up panel, adjust hue and saturation, get different effects. For example, Figure 6.
