To color is an effective way to enhance the charm of scenery, can make the contrast of the picture and shade become more prominent, so that the shape of the scene and texture changes to attract the attention of the audience.
If we can add some new color to the shadow and the high light part of the picture, the beauty of the picture will be further improved. The color tendency of black and white works can enhance the aesthetic interest of the picture, while strengthening the emotional appeal of the picture.
In our tutorial using the separation of tonal techniques, for example, dark blue shaded parts and warm pale yellow high light formed a strong contrast, so that the original texture details become more vivid, the main scenery of the form has become more prominent.
The Adobe Camera Raw Editor in Photoshop software provides a panel that creates a separate tonal effect, with hsl/grayscale panels that help photographers directly treat photos as black and white, and shade them for high light and dark tones. But the two panels offer the option and the adjustment effect is still not in the harsh scenery of the photographer's discernment. For these highly skilled, discerning masters, only the black and white adjustment layer, the gradient mapping adjustment layer and the rich layer blending mode combination can satisfy their abnormal requirements.
1, black and white adjustment layer
Execute the File > Open command to select the photo. Follow the window > Layer command to open the Layers panel, click the New Adjustment Layer button below the panel, select Black and White commands from the pop-up menu, and the preview screen will turn black and white, and the property panel that controls the black and white adjustment layer settings will also pop up.

Use the default worth of black and white conversion results The contrast is too plain to be satisfying. Open the preset drop-down menu in the Properties panel and choose Infrared presets to increase the contrast between the blue sky and the white clouds. But the contrast is slightly lower, so we need to make local adjustments.
3, improve the contrast
Click the new Layer button at the bottom right of the layers panel to create a blank layer and set the layer blending mode to overlay. Select the Brush tool, choose a round soft side brush, set the size to 1000 pixels, opacity 15%, and then smear on the grass to increase the contrast between the Meadow shadow and the highlight.
4. Add a gradient map
Follow the layer > new adjustment layer > Gradient Map command, click the OK button directly in the New Layer dialog box that pops up, and the gradient map adjustment layer appears at the top of the layers panel, and the corresponding property panel bounces out. Click the gray gradient preview in the Properties panel to open the gradient editor.

The gradient is set by default to a black and white gradient from the foreground color to the background color, and you can change the gradient color by the color label under the gradient preview. First click the Black Color label at the bottom left, and then click the color preview of the lower color bar to open the Color Selector dialog box and set it to blue purple. Click the OK button to apply the settings.
