First, show the details of the dark
Select the image-Resize-shadow/highlight command to check the "Show more Options" in the pop-up dialog box to set the parameters for each option.
Adjust the "midtones" argument in the Shadow/Highlight dialog box to highlight the dark part, darken the highlight area, and increase the contrast. Lower the saturation of the image below.
Click the Create new Fill or adjust Layer button at the bottom of the Layers panel and select hue/Saturation in the pop-up menu to get the hue/saturation 1 layer and set the degree in the pop-up panel.
Second, adjust the contrast between the character and the background at different levels
The following will be combined with selection and "levels" to adjust the layer to enhance the character's contrast effect.
Select the magnetic Lasso tool and set the parameters on its tools Options bar. Use the magnetic lasso tool to create a selection along the contour of the character.
Tip: When you draw to the bottom edge using the magnetic lasso tool, you can hold down the ALT key and click once to switch to the Polygon Lasso tool, and then automatically switch back to the magnetic Lasso tool when you click once.
