1, open the file

4. Set options

The safest way to do this is to select the appropriate preset from the top preset drop-down menu.

5, Infrared preset

Works of different types and colors are suitable for different types of presets and need to be targeted when choosing. Our work is ideal for using the infra-red preset, which can greatly crush the sky and the sea, bringing a strong contrast to the ground and the waves, and greatly enhancing the visual impact of the screen.

6, new layer

To highlight the island, we need to adjust the contrast. Then we want the waves in the foreground to be more white. Such local brightening or dimming operations can also be done through non-destructive editing, by clicking the New Layer button on the layers panel to create a blank layer.

7, Mixed Mode

Double-click the label of the new layer in the Layers panel to rename it to dodge deepen. The Edit > Fill command is set to 50% Gray using the Drop-down menu. Open the Blending mode drop-down menu on the upper left side of the layers panel, change the layer blending mode to overlay, and the filled Gray disappears to reveal the underlying layer.

8, improve the contrast

Select the Dodge tool, set the range to high light in the upper options bar, set the exposure to 40%, and set the brush size to 250 pixels. The high light portion of the background island is smeared to make it stand out from the Black Sea water. Then in the foreground of the wave on the smear, enhance the contrast and three-dimensional waves.

9. Gradient Mapping

Follow the layer > new adjustment layer > Gradient Map command to click the OK button in the New Layer dialog box that pops up. Click the shaded gradient strip preview in the Properties panel to open the Gradient Editor dialog box, the default setting is the first option in the preset window-the foreground color to the background color gradient.

10, Shadow Color

We can set a new gradient using the gradient strip below the Gradient editor window. Click the black color mark in the lower-left corner of the gradient bar to select it, click the color swatch in the lower color label setting area to open the Picker window, set the shadow part color to H 220°, S 75%, b80%, and click OK.

11, High light color

Click the white color mark in the lower-right corner of the gradient strip, open the Color Picker window, and set the highlights to orange with a strong blue contrast, set to 30° H, S 100%, B 80%. Click the OK button to return to the gradient editor, and then click OK to complete the gradient settings.

12. Mixed adjustment

The gradient map adjusts the current color setting of the layer too exaggerated, we need to set it naturally. The layer blending mode is set to overlay and the opacity is lowered to 44%, so that we get a two-tone black-and-white photo with highlights as warm tones and shaded parts as cool tones.
