Two sets of kernel source code 2.4 and 2.6 were checked out from cvs.handhelds.org, which was specially maintained by handhelds.org, saving patching. There are configurations for different platforms under arch/arm/configs/. For example, my 3970 is h3900_static_defconfig.
Of course, you must first install cross-tools, such as kernel-2.4 to use the gcc-3.3.2 version, kernel-2.6 to use 3.4.3. These are all downloaded on the ftp.
During compilation of 2.6, it was found that the gcc-arm-3.4.1 compiler provided by handhelds.org could not be compiled, and later it was compiled through the latest 4.2.0 official embi.
Cause: embi support is set in kernel-feature by default, while handhelds.org does not provide embi. Even if embi support is disabled, embi can be used for detection, however, problems still occur in subsequent compilation, so we still need to use official embi.
In the future, we will sort out the development notes for your reference. Now we have started testing the new kernel... the 2.4 kernel driver of h3900 is quite perfect, with a lot of difference in 2.6. There is a lot of work to do ....
