Play music files using Windows Scheduled Tasks

This question can be found on the Internet many answers, but there are some small details are not accounted for, and I usually rarely use the scheduled task, so the configuration has a point of problem, hereby note.

1. Player

Check what the default player is for the target file under the current system, and make sure that it can run.

For example, when you run WMP for the first time, you should make sure that you have made these basic configurations before you perform the scheduled tasks.

2. Add a Scheduled task

Select Create Basic task, and then follow the wizard.

When you configure the step for what you want the task to do, select the default startup program.

In the next program or script, specify the target file that needs to be played directly, such as: C:\papillon.mp3, without filling in parameters, the scheduled task will be played using the player in step 1.

Note: Of course, you can also specify the EXE program, and then specify the target file in the parameters, the effect is the same.

3. Property settings

Under the General tab, if you want to run without logging in, you need to select the second item.

If you have a lot of playback tasks in a day, be aware of the following settings:

Under the Settings tab, tick "if the task runs longer than the following time, stop the task" and adjust the time to a shorter value, such as 10 minutes, enough to play the sound file.

The purpose of this is to fail when the new playback task runs without a running conflict with an existing instance.

As you can see under the General tab, even WIN10, the default configuration for scheduled tasks is the same, and you do not know what the differences are for these configurations.
