The previous section describes how to write a Raspberry Pi system to the Raspberry Pi, and today we'll show you how to configure the Raspberry Pi for better use.

If you have a monitor. Keyboard mouse, direct start can go to the desktop, you can use a fool-like way to configure. If you don't have a monitor, you can also connect the Raspberry Pi on your laptop with a shareware such as VNC. However, this article describes the use of SSH to connect to the Raspberry Pi, using the command line to configure the way. First plug the Raspberry Pi into the system's memory card TF card, connect the network cable (with your computer on the same LAN), and then power on.

The more common SSH terminal tool is SECURECRT, many online, I use the Chinese cracked, after installation open, new connection,

Host name is the IP address of the Raspberry Pi, that in the first boot and how to obtain the IP address, the simplest way is to log on to the same LAN router, see all connections, find raspberrypi corresponding IP address, of course, this is in the connection of wired conditions, if it is wireless, There is no way to connect to the router through the terminal. Write a separate article on how to connect to the network to obtain the LAN IP bar.

With the hostname, the default username for the Raspberry Pi is raspberry. After filling in the user name, click Connect and enter the password in the pop-up box, pay attention to choose to save the password, so the next time you log in, you do not need to enter the password again. The next step is to start configuring your work properly.

Use the following command to open the configuration:

sudo raspb-config

Just follow the configuration in the order shown in the diagram.

1 Extending the file system

is to use the entire memory card as a Raspberry Pi storage space, a bit similar to the partition of the hard disk, the entire disk is allocated to a partition.

Press the UP and DOWN ARROW keys, select 1 and press Enter will pop up, prompting the Raspberry Pi will be in effect on the next reboot. Press Enter to confirm and then return to the main configuration page just now.

2 Modifying user passwords

This is relatively simple, is to modify the current login user's password, press ENTER after entering will require two times the new password, and then re-confirm the password to modify the success.

3 Start Interface settings

This is also a good understanding, that is, when the Raspberry Pi launched after the way the display, terminal or graphical interface, automatic login or manual login.

B1 terminal startup, users need to enter the user name password to enter the system;

B2 is also the terminal start, but will automatically "PI" This user login to this terminal, do not need users to log in again;

B3 graphical interface to start, require user input user name and password to log in;

B4 has "PI" This user automatically login to the image interface. This is also the default option for Raspberry Pi. If there is no special need, it is recommended to choose this, because when the display is connected automatically with "PI" login to the image interface, more intuitive.

4 Whether you need to wait for network connection at startup

This setting provides two options: 1, fast boot does not need to wait for network connection, 2, wait for the network connection is successful before fully started. The default is the first option to start quickly.

5 Internationalization options

This option is more critical, can you correctly enter characters, display characters, time is right and so on need to set in this, or one by one.

I1 set the language and region, in order to prevent garbled suggestions set to "en_US." UTF-8 UTF-8 "or" ZH_CN. UTF-8 UTF-8 "When set to" ZH_CN. UTF-8 UTF-8 "also need to install the Chinese font in the Raspberry Pi graphical interface to see no garbled Chinese, for SSH terminal, because the terminal display set is" UTF-8 ", so all the Chinese in the SSH terminal can be normal display. When you have finished setting up the language, press confirm to bring up another interface:

Probably said that many software packages use the local language to display, to choose a default language, to prevent the garbled in multi-user, and so on, here directly select "en_US." UTF-8 "It's OK.

I2 set the time zone, we are in the East eight district, so in the pop-up interface, select "Asia" and "Shanghai" on it, or select "None of the Above", "GMT-8" is also the East eight, both settings are the same effect. You can use the "date-r" command to view the current time.

I3 keyboard settings, note that when setting up a re-election, you have to plug in the keyboard, otherwise you will be prompted not to find the keyboard, and then exit directly to the previous level of the directory. However, in general, the keyboard will be automatically recognized after inserting, the domestic keyboard is generally "Generic 105-key (Intl) PC" keyboard. After selecting the keyboard, you also need to choose the layout of the keyboard, the default is "UK", but some characters "UK" is the euro symbol, and we usually use the layout of the American keyboard, so to choose "US", this option has a lot of sub-options, anyway, as long as the U.S. keyboard is set to no problem.

I4 WiFi country settings, this seems to be a new set of items, not set up can also connect to WiFi. Set the words to select "CN China".

6 whether the camera is allowed

This setting is on the onboard interface camera, if you have an official webcam, you need to use the words here to allow it to be set.

7 Add your Raspberry Pi to the online warehouse

is to ask if you'd like to add your Raspberry Pi to the online warehouse.

8 overclocking

Try a generation of Raspberry Pi, the effect is not obvious, 2 generations after the Raspberry Pi performance is getting better, seemingly do not need to overclock. But if you want to try it, you can choose to Overclock.

9 Other feature settings

Some hardware-related settings

The next section will focus on each of these settings and the role.

When the setup is finished, select "Finish", you will be prompted to restart the Raspberry Pi, select confirm, restart the settings just after the effective, then you can play your Raspberry Pi.
