Playing rmvb files with mplayer in ubuntu8.10

In ubuntu8.10, mplayer is used to play files in rmvb format. 1. mplayer is mainly used to watch audio and video files in rmvb format. Although its built-in movie player is intelligent, however, it does not support playing rmvb (only audio and no video ).
