Plsql Configuring a remote database connection

First, install PL/SQL Developer

Second, re-install Instantclient_11_2

After the download is complete, unzip to any disk, as follows:

Open Network-->admin to find the following file:

Edit as follows:

dbname =  (DESCRIPTION = (    address_list = (      ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 192.168.0.140) (PORT = 1521    ))    (Connect_data =      (service_name = PDA)    )  )

Where dbname is the name of the connection to display at Plsql login, this is a casual write. Host and port are the database IP and port number, SERVICE_NAME is the database instance name

Under no sign-in scenario, go to PL/SQL Developer click tools---> Preferences---> Connect

Close, re-open Enter user name and password, login can.
