Create user and specify password:

CREATE USER readonly with ENCRYPTED PASSWORD ' Ropass ';

Set user default transaction read-only:

Alter user readonly set Default_transaction_read_only=on;

Give the user permission to view all tables in public mode:

GRANT USAGE on the SCHEMA public to ReadOnly; ALTER DEFAULT Privileges in the SCHEMA public GRANT SELECT on TABLES to ReadOnly;

To give users permission to connect to the database:

GRANT CONNECT on the DATABASE foo to ReadOnly;

Switch to the specified database:

\c Foo

To give the user table, sequence View permissions:

GRANT USAGE on the SCHEMA public to ReadOnly; GRANT SELECT on all sequences in the SCHEMA public to ReadOnly; GRANT SELECT on all TABLES in the SCHEMA public to ReadOnly;
