Model Document Editor
PowerDesigner's Model document is a model-based, project-oriented overview document that provides a flexible, rich model document editing interface that enables the entire process of designing, modifying, and outputting model documents.
The functionality of the model document is as follows:
- Generate standard or custom documents for each model and export files in RTF or HTML format
- Use the document template Editor to provide a unified, customized template for model documents, similar to the template functionality of Word
- Use the document language Editor to provide a variety of languages for model documents to internationalize model documents
- You can generate single-model documents for each model, or multiple-model documents for several models
The document Model Editor includes: Document template Editor, document editor, multi-model document editor, and language document editor.
Document Template Editor
(1) Select the Report-report Templates (or tools-resources-report Templates) command to open the list of Report Templates window (these templates are installed in < PowerDesigner 15 installation directory >\resources files\report templates directory)
(2) Double-click the available items (active option), and the check option is automatically added to the template Items on the right (the options included in the templates) bar, right-click to edit it. When you are finished editing, select the File-save command to save the changes you made to the system-provided template.
(3) You can also create a new document template yourself. Click the new icon in the interface shown in step (1) above to open the Report template Type window, you can define the template name, language and type, click OK to enter the template definition window, double-click the option in the available Items (active options) bar, The selected options are automatically added to the right column, edited and saved.
Document Editor
The document editor is used to define the structure of the document generated for a single model, and the document structure indicates the content of the generated document. You can also export the model document to a printer or RTF and HTML-formatted file. The following describes the process of generating documentation for the CDM.
(1) Open the CDM in workspace, select the Report-reports command, and Pop up the dialog box shown in 9-1.

(2) All documents are displayed in the List of Reports dialog box, and if they are not, you can click the new Report icon and open the dialog box shown in 9-2.

(3) Enter the document name, select the document language and template, click OK, press the selected language and template into the Model Document editing window, 9-3.

(4) Click the Print Preview icon in the toolbar to open the window for the model document shown in 9-4.

(5) You can also click the print icon in Figure 9-3 to output the model document to the printer, click the Generate RTF icon to generate a rich Text format file, and click the Generate HTML icon to generate the HTML file. The generated RTF file can be used in Microsoft Office Word to open edit, as shown in 9-5.

Language Document editor
The Language document editor is used to provide language resource files for various documents that are generated in languages other than English. The language resource file is a. Xrl the file as a suffix in XML format.
Steps to use:
(1) Select Tools-resource-report Languages, open the list of Report Languages window, select a language as the language of the document editor, click Properties in the toolbar, open the report Language the Properties window, sets the individual object and title attributes in the document.
(2) Apply Language document edit the defined language resource file: Select Report-report Properties, open the window, select the desired language form, click the Edit Report Language button on the right side of the language drop-down list box to open the report Language the Properties window, customize the language resource file for the document, and use the document editor to generate a document print preview with Chinese information.
Multi-model document (Mult-model report) editor
The multi-model file editor is used for multiple models to generate the same document for global browsing and analysis of all models.
Managing Model Documents
According to the actual need to customize the contents of the document, such as: document items, nodes, projects, page Setup.
