Create a database description document with other tools

Method/Step

1. To configure an ODBC data source, install Mysql-connector-odbc-5.1.5-win32.msi

2. Open PowerDesigner. Select File--->reverse engineer--->database

3. In the popup dialog box new Physic data Model fill in your own modelname, select DBMS for MYSQL5 Click OK

4. In the popup database reverse engineer selection, select using a data source and click Connect to a data source to eject the connect to a Data Source dialog box.

5. Select data source for the ODBC machine data source and select the MySQL data source you just configured to enter the user password click Connect to return to the database reverse engineer options and click OK.

   5.1 Click Modify to add an ODBC data source configured on Windows to test if PD can connect to database 5.2 If you do not need to re-configure and add a data source, click Config in the previous step to configure the data source

6. 6. The Database Reverse engineer dialog box pops up at this point. Select the table you want to generate click OK
