Picture background removal is one of the new features in Office 2010, included in version 2010 of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Using the Remove Background tool, you can quickly and accurately delete a picture background, which is convenient to use. Unlike some cutout tools, it can intelligently identify the background that needs to be deleted without having to accurately depict the object. Here is an example of Excel 2010, which describes how to use the tool as follows:
1. Select the picture you want to remove the background from, click the Picture Tools Format tab in the Ribbon, and click the Delete Background button in the adjustments group.
Excel will automatically go to the Background removal tab.
If the Background elimination tab is not displayed at this time, you can display the tab in the following ways: click file → options → custom ribbon, and select Background removal in the area on the right.
2. At this time the removal of the background tool has been automatically selected, the image of magenta to remove the part, the primary colors are to be retained.
If the part you want to keep is not all selected, drag the handle so that all the parts you want to keep are included in the selection.
3. You can see that there is no perfect deletion of the background, and a small number of backgrounds have not been deleted. The following adds a deletion mark to the part of the image that needs to be deleted: Click the Mark Area to delete button in the Optimize group of the Background Removal tab, click the ground area in the lower part of the dog and the area near the hind leg, and so on, add one or more deletion markers (minus circled) to these areas, Make the area you want to delete become magenta as well. If an error occurs during the operation, you can either press Ctrl+z to undo or click the Delete tag button in the Optimize group of the Background Removal tab to remove the tag.
In addition, a small number of parts that need to be preserved (such as the tip of the puppy's tail) are very close to the background color and are incorrectly set to magenta, which is deleted with the background. You can click the mark to Preserve Area button in the Optimize group on the Background Removal tab, click at the tip of the puppy's tail, and add a retention mark (a circled plus sign) to preserve the area. When you add a reserved tag, the area becomes the primary color.
4. Finally, press ESC or click the Keep Changes button in the close group on the Background Removal tab to complete the background deletion.
