However, there are security risks. Personal information and files on wireless networks may be seen by people who receive network signals, which may lead to identity theft and other malicious behaviors, many well-known security software vendors have mentioned this. However, in a Windows 7 system with very powerful security, we can set a security key for Wifi, which can greatly protect our personal information.

Currently, there are three types of wireless network encryption: WiFi-protected access (WPA and WPA2), wired peer-to-peer Security (WEP), and 802.1x.
 
1. WPA and WPA2
 

WPA and WPA2 require the user to provide a security key for connection. After the key verification is completed, the data sent between the computer or device and the Access Point will be encrypted, WPA2 authentication is more secure. Almost all new wireless adapters support WPA and WPA2, but some older wireless adapters do not. We recommend that you use this mode in your home network.

 

2. WEP

When WEP is enabled, you must set a network security key. The WEP Key may encrypt the information sent from one computer to another over the network. However, the WEP Security Mechanism is relatively easy to crack. Despite these warnings, if you still want to use WEP shared key authentication, follow these steps:

Click Start> Control Panel to open network and sharing center ". In the search box, type a network, and then click "network and sharing center"-> click "set new connection or network"-> click "manually connect to wireless network ", click "Next"-> "Security type" on the "enter information about the wireless network you want to add" Page, select WEP-> complete the remaining operations on this page, click "Next"> "change connection settings"> "security" tab, and then click "share" under "Security type"> "OK ", click Close ".

3. 802.1x

802.1x is usually used in enterprise networks, and it is not practical. I know little about it and I will not be able to take an axe.
