PPT slide Cascading menu How to make

Sometimes we want to use a cascading menu on a slide to switch between slides. The common practice in PPT is to make use of components such as text boxes to compose menus, set with triggers or hyperlinks, and then copy the set menu to each slide, which is tedious. Another approach is programming with VBA code, which is more embarrassing for ordinary people. Here's a simpler way to make slide menus--making interactive slides with Lectora inspire software.

Example: Make a cascading menu with 5 main menus, several submenus under each menu, and click on the submenu to switch to the corresponding slides (Figure 1).

1. Add the necessary menu

Run Lectora Inspire, select "Heading 1" at the work Explorer, click on the "Menu" button in the "Insert" tab, and add each menu through the "Add Item" button in the pop-up menu creator window.

After the menu is added, use the up and down arrows on the left to adjust the top and bottom positions of each menu, with the left arrow to set a submenu to a sub-menu, and the right arrow to set the submenu to the main menu (Figure 2).

Small tips:

If the menu is added to the page (the slide), it can only appear on the page, and if you want it to appear on each page, drag it under the chapter heading.

2. Menu Style beautification

To make the slide more colourful, you need to decorate the menu. In the menu Creator window, select the menu style, submenu Style tab, and then set the main menu, submenu color, font, transform color, contour color, and so on (Figure 3).

3. Set Menu action

Once the menu is created, you need to set up the action for each submenu. Right-click the menu you added, select Edit, and select the submenu in the Menu Creator window. Click the "No Action" button, select "Go", the target selection of the appropriate slides (page), scrolling everywhere can be selected as needed (such as the top), open the way to select the "Existing window" (Figure 4). All submenu actions are set this way.

4. Complete the work release

Finally, the "Preview" button to test, no problem, using the "Home" tab of the "Publish" button, the work will be published as an EXE or HTML format of the file.
