In PowerPoint 2007, we often try to convert an Excel 2007 chart to an office drawing object so that some parts of the chart are formatted differently. However, when we try to convert an Excel 2007 chart to an Office drawing object, the conversion feature is not available.
This feature is available in earlier versions of Office. For example, in earlier versions of Office, you can convert an Excel chart to an office drawing object. You can then ungroup the graphics and set some parts of the chart to different formats.
Problem reason: The Office Graphics object feature has been replaced in 2007 Office system. PowerPoint 2007 and Excel 2007 now share the same drawing capabilities.
Workaround: To format some parts of an Excel chart in PowerPoint 2007, click the section in the chart that you want to format differently. Then, use the appropriate drawing tools on the design, options, and Formatting tabs to make changes to the formatting.
