Practical Tips: Run WordPress on Ubuntu

In the past, APMXE was used in Windows to debug WordPress, which often caused problems. Now, you must install a complete php environment on Ubuntu. Installing things on Ubuntu is refreshing. You don't need to compile the source code by yourself. Remember to collect a few articles in the Help file when I helped the company configure the AS4 server last time. This way, modules like this are dizzy. Now you only need apt-get, and the rest is sitting next to the TV to spend time. I thought I had been using WP for a long time? I checked my previous blog articles and used APMXE in Windows to debug WordPress. There are often problems. Now I must install a complete php environment on Ubuntu. I thought I had been using WP for a long time? After reading the previous blog articles, I found that I was still tutoring WordPress in November. It's really interesting to flip through the old article. Another advantage of writing a blog is that you can recall it. Even if it's a journal account, you can also look at what you were doing a few years ago? What are you following and studying? Old, you can see how naive you were. "I'm afraid I have nothing to remember !"

Let's get down to the point. Next we will talk about "a few simple steps to run WordPress on Ubuntu ":

1. Install Apache2 + PHP5 + MySQL

Sudo apt-get install apache2 libapache2-mod-security libapache2-mod-php5 php5 php5-gd mysql-server php5-mysql phpmyadmin

2. Configure php. ini

Sudo gedit/etc/php5/apache2/php. ini

If the following sentence is not provided or commented out, add this sentence or cancel the semicolon ";"

Extension = mysql. so

3. Configure apache2.conf

Sudo gedit/etc/apache2/apache2.conf

Load the mod_rewrite module and add:

LoadModule rewrite_module/usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_rewrite.so

Load the mod_deflate module and add:

LoadModule deflate_module/usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_deflate.so

Remember that the modules you want to add are in/usr/lib/apache2/modules.

Add a VM:

DocumentRoot/var/www/

Options FollowSymLinks
AllowOverride all

After installation, apache and mysql are automatically started.

You do not need to consider any optimization or security issues, because the Server is your own. You only need to remember these commands in the future.

Sudo/etc/init. d/apache2 restart (restart apache)
Sudo gedit/etc/php5/apache2/php. ini (configure php. ini)
Sudo gedit/etc/apache2/apache2.conf (configure apache2.conf)
/Var/www/(home directory location)
