After installing vmware workstation, there will be two more virtual NICs in the network connection: VMWare network adapter vmnet1 and VMWare network adapter vmnet8. the systems installed in the virtual machine are connected by these two virtual network cards. vmnet1 is the virtual Nic required for host-only networking, and vmnet8 is the virtual Nic required for NAT networking. In the bridge mode, the host is treated as a bridge, and then the virtual machine comes with a virtual network card. The host and the virtual machine belong to the same network segment.
At work, there was a wired network card that could not be connected to the experimental platform, and the Network Bridge of the virtual machine was connected to the wireless network card of the notebook host. After some research, I had a better understanding of VMware, the procedure is as follows:
1. First, check the IP address allocated to the wireless network card of the local machine.
2. Edit the virtual network editor of the Virtual Machine and select bridge wireless network card.
3. Go to the virtual machine to edit the network settings of the virtual machine, set DHCP to automatically get, or manually set the IP address to manually set
4. Restart the network, view the Internet access conditions, and Ping various connections.
