A simple question: Why do I have to be a project manager?

In the software development industry, IT projects have seen the following trends in recent years:

-Shorter development cycle

-More competitors

-More and more customer needs

-Investment is getting fewer and fewer.

This is a general trend, and no one can change it.

This means that the project manager needs to have higher communication skills, higher technical skills, higher project management capabilities, and higher intensity of work, but with a lower sense of accomplishment (to be honest, for customers, if they invest a little money in just a few months and there are other projects that many people can do, will they teach them to take them seriously ?? On the other hand, even if such a project is successfully completed, will it have a sense of accomplishment ??). More importantly, due to the decrease in project investment funds, the project manager's revenue has declined.

 

Is such a downhill position really worth your hope?

So, since the project manager is so bad, why are there so many others?

Simply put, because this is two ways to determine the two different ways of your survival-technology or management.

 

The technical path is to become a technician, pursue the growth that is conducive to technology and continuously improve skills, as well as opportunities to apply such technologies, and focus on solving technical problems.

The management path is to be a manager who pursues and is committed to job promotion. He is devoted to taking responsibility for a Part independently, integrating the results of others, and taking responsibility for the whole part, it depends on whether the part is successful or not.

 

Project management is at the intersection of the two roads, or the only way to switch from a technical road to a management road.

 

There is no difference between the two roads. However, the instinct of the human governance society allows us to make a choice: take the road of Management!
