Windows 95 is still running well, but you cannot require it to run very fast, just like a computer. It takes about 10 minutes to start, but the running effect is not good after startup, and the availability is high. In Linux, we tested DLX Linux and installed it through bochs in advance. The running condition is also very good. But it cannot do more work, because it does not support the keyboard. If you need to process the text above, you need to wait for External keyboard support. If the joystick can do this, I think it is also a good thing.

In Windows, it is not extremely difficult to control the mouse. It is like Windows accelerates the mouse. Once you move the mouse, you want to stop, and the mouse will continue moving forward, almost not listening to the command. What you need to do is move in the opposite direction to make resistance to slow down. It may be too tired, but it doesn't have to be fun. It feels good to run Windows 95 on PSP.

Future improvements:

-At the beginning, you only set the screen size in Windows (480X272). The final result is that the system consumes a lot of CPU time, and the running speed is very slow. In fact, 3D hardware acceleration may have better results, and it is still being tested.

-The simulated joystick should simulate the mouse action, which is very convenient.

-Some input devices similar to the keyboard should be well supported, so running Windows virtual keyboard is very convenient.

Specific Method:

1) create a bochs image and configuration file. We recommend that you first install the operating system on the PC and then port it to the PSP (unless you have 10 years to wait ). You can also download some ready-made image files here (http://bochs.sourceforge.net/diskimages.html)

2) download and decompress the file mentioned below (Take A Look At It slowly, don't Worry)

3) if you are using 1.0 firmware, put the eboot. pbp file in the game directory (for example, X: \ PSP \ GAME \ bochs, "X" is the PSP hard disk here ). If it is 1.5 firmware, you need to re-package through "kxploit". Currently, no test has been conducted on 1.5 firmware. The updated firmware (v1.51, v1.52, and V2.0) has not been tested, because the Homebrew program cannot be run yet.

4) create a directory named VM under the root directory (for example, X: \ VM)

5) Copy all the Disk Images and bios files on the PSP.

6) edit the bochs configuration file so that it points to your disk image and bios file correctly. Note that you need to use the "ms0:/" prefix to start the file system on PSP (the configuration sample can be found in the download section below for reference ). We also need to set the memory space used by the VM. Make sure that the setting is about 8 Mb. If too many psp instances are used, the system will be ruined !! (Because PSP only has 32 mb ram in total ).

7) Rename the bochs configuration file to "bochsrc. bxrc" and place it in the VM path. This is the only file that is really needed for hardcoded configuration. You can place other files as you like. Just point the configuration file to the correct path. The download section below is also prompted.

Now you have to run bochs, and then let it go.
