The traditional method is to install the system through a GHOST on the CD, but now there is a new method, that is, to use the network to implement the network GHOST, we can publish the network GHOST server on a server, and then the common computers in the machine room can directly download the GHOST program from the server and restore the system through the network, the advantage of restoring the operating system through the network GHOST method is obvious. On the one hand, it saves us time to maintain the data center, and the network administrator does not need to install the operating system on one platform, the entire installation is carried out in batches and in a coordinated manner. On the other hand, this network GHOST restoration method also reduces the wear of the optical drive and the burning of the GHOST disc, saving maintenance costs for a certain program. However, the network GHOST cannot be used at will. Just as the computer uses the network normally, each GHOST client must have an IP address, how can I assign IP address information to each client without installing the system? In this case, a DHCP service is required to assign network parameters such as IP addresses to the GHOST in each network through the DHCP server in the data center. After the data center Maintenance and GHOST recovery are complete, we can disable the temporary DHCP service.

(2) DHCP is required for network device initialization.

In addition to the application features mentioned above, some network devices purchased by our company, such as network printers and NAS network storage devices, also need to use the DHCP service during initialization, although a network device usually has a default IP address or provides a management tool for us to conveniently set up, many times it is impossible to configure the parameters of the network device through these methods due to one reason or another, at this time, the temporary DHCP service is required to assign addresses for these network devices, and then locate the IP addresses of the network devices through the cache information of the DHCP address pool, and then perform relevant configuration. After the configuration is complete, disable the temporary DHCP.

Step 1: Download the DHCP Turbo program, decompress and run the master program to start installation. When selecting the installation type, we set it to FULL and then click "NEXT" to continue.

Step 2: select the installation path. The default value is c: program filesdhcp turbo. You can change the value through the browse button on the right and click "NEXT" to continue. Step 3: Click NEXT to copy the required files to the local hard disk. After the installation is complete, run the DHCP Turbo master program icon on the desktop to start the software.

Step 4: after installing the DHCP publishing tool, we need to set specific DHCP service parameters. First, we start the DHCP Turbo program. When you connect to Localhost on the main interface, you may be prompted to enter the password. The default password is empty. Just confirm login. After connecting to the local console, right-click localhost> scope and choose new scope to create a NEW range. This NEW range is the address area dynamically allocated by DHCP. In the new scope setting window, we set a name for the DHCP service and set the starting IP address and ending IP address, in addition, we also need to set the subnet mask. We need to add the corresponding information according to the actual situation of the enterprise, such as 255.255.255.0.

Step 5: Save the settings and modify the network address acquisition method on the client to automatically obtain the IP address. Then run the ipconfig/renew command, we can see that related network addresses and other information are obtained from the DHCP server smoothly.

Tips

If we need to allocate addresses such as gateways to client machines, we need to make additional settings to achieve automatic distribution of DNS and gateway. We found option types under dhcp turbo.
