Precautions for installing wireshark in RHEL5: Install the latest wireshark source code (wireshark-1.8.3.tar.bz2) in the operating system rhel5.4 ,. download wireshark at www.wireshark.org before installing wireshark: Install the dependent Library: libpcap source code decompress, compile and install it, 1. extract the full path of the command tar-jxf tar.bz2 package [-C destination Directory] 2. go to the decompressed file directory www.2cto.com 3 .. /configure -- prefix =/usr/local/wireshark 4. make & make install after the preceding steps are completed, wireshark will be installed in the/usr/local/wireshark directory. If the tool is required for hosts of the same operating system, copy this directory and you will be OK.
