Google Cardboard Virtual reality Glasses Development Preliminary (III)
follow-up development with cardboard SDK for Unity demo
In the previous article, we imported the cardboard SDK and ran the demo. This time I will teach you how to use this demo to create your own scene, put your model into the scene, with virtual reality glasses to watch and even operate, in fact, as long as unity, these are very simple.
Here I will import a model of my own helicopter, can be understood as the production of a simulated driving game, after the follow-up development involves my own projects, not too much to explain. Later I will explain the demo code, publish the Chinese API, then everyone as long as there will be some unity can be happy to develop ~
(i) Prepare a model of FBX
I personally prefer to use 3DS max modeling, of course, there are a lot of people like Maya, or of course you can download the model resources directly from the Internet, in short, prepare a FBX format model, here I take my own model as an example:
Export to FBX file (helicopter. FBX):
Model Rendering Diagram:
To show you the model I made, haha ~
(ii) Import the model into the scene
Here found that some materials are somehow lost, I have not known how to solve, from the internet did not find a solution, I can only put the model into unity after the material again, I hope to know how to solve the great God informed.
The process of re-attaching the material was skipped.
(iii) Adjust camera position and model position
Click on the left side of the Cardboardmain, that is, the left and right eye camera composed of the main camera, with the mobile tool to move it to the desired position, I put the camera inside the cabin, simulating the driver's view, after running can see the effect:
(iv) Summary
I use the classmate's high-split screen mobile phone in the Storm magic mirror test, or very feeling, and then I gave the helicopter blade added a rotation animation, wear glasses or a kind of immersive feeling, in short, relatively successful.
This is the virtual reality of the first step in the development of glasses, but also to complete their own virtual reality application, after I will use the SDK for some explanation, analysis of the demo code, is a point, and then we can use this knowledge, Combine the knowledge of unity development to develop a wide variety of VR eyewear applications!
Hope to have some help, originally this article is more redundant, but in earnest attitude, as an introductory tutorial, I do not want to leave doubts to the reader, but also please look forward to the following content ~
