Preparing for deploying ASP: Installing Ubuntu Server 16.10 with Hyper-V

Overview

Hyper-V is Microsoft's virtualization product, and the same hypervisor technology that VMware uses. It has been embedded into the WIN10 system, and we only need to install it in a simple setup. But the premise is to make sure that your machine is enabled for virtualization and can be viewed in Task Manager as follows:

Ubuntu (Bantu) is an open source Linux operating system that also provides the server version for the enterprise. For other distributions such as CentOS, Debian, etc., this is not the focus of the discussion, this article is installed in Ubuntu Server 16.10 version. And do not say that many Ubuntu data, community wide, alone it is my university in contact with the first Linux operating system (preconceived), then well-deserved to become my first choice.

First, install Hyper-V

1. In Control Panel → program → enable or disable Windows features → check hyper-V and then restart the computer after installation

Second, configure Hyper-V

1. Open the Hyper-V manager that you just installed, right-select Create virtual machine, then follow the wizard step by step

2, modify the name of the virtual machine Ubuntu16.10, and then modify the location of the virtual machine storage, it is recommended to place a large space on a drive letter

3, select the first generation of virtual machine, as for the second generation of the difference in where, see (PS: Second generation seemingly does not support my computer)

4, configure it with a 2G of memory

5, network adapter can not be temporarily ignored, we configure later, direct next.

6, set up a 50G virtual hard disk for the virtual machine, the name and location can be changed by default

7. Select the Ubuntu16.10 server version of the image file that we downloaded earlier

8, the last step, complete!

You can also set up virtual machines, such as adding a virtual CPU to four cores, and so on.

the next step is to configure a virtual network for use by the virtual machine: Select the virtual Switch Manager on the right side of the manager, open and create an external virtual switch, set a name and select a network adapter that can access the extranet, and finally do not forget to reset it to the virtual machine's network adapter

Third, install Ubuntu 16.10 Server version

1, start our virtual machine, start the installation system, the default choice of English installation can, remember to use the keyboard, mouse not!

Do not ask why I do not choose Chinese installation, LZ has been pro-test not installed successfully, such as:

2, directly choose to install Ubuntu Server version, the first option

7. Configure your Host name

8. Set up an account name

10. Set a password for this account name and verify it again

13, Configuration LVM (encyclopedia: LVM full name is the Logical Disk volume management (Logical Volume manager), is a Linux system to disk partition management a mechanism.

14, determine the selection of configuration LVM

Unfortunately, the official can upgrade to 17.04 (embarrassing), if you need long-term support, it is recommended to install Ubuntu Server 16.04 lts!
