Yesterday, Wu zhensheng, president of Beijing Power Greater China, said in an interview with the first financial daily that "WiMax will be officially accepted by all countries. Before that, most countries still adopt a wait-and-see attitude ."

WiMax patents are also different from other 3G standards. The patents of 3G standards are in the hands of a few companies, while WiMax patents are very scattered, there are hundreds of companies that claim to own their patents.

However, Wu zhensheng said that beidian currently owns more than 70 WiMax core patents, all of which are concentrated in MIMO and OFDA.

Of course, WiMax also faces many problems. Wu zhensheng believes that WiMax is still under development, because WiMax has not yet found a new business model, and WiMax must also find applications that users are willing to pay.

Wu zhensheng believes that the emergence of WiMax as a 3G standard will also affect the way of thinking on 3G in the domestic market and allow public demonstration of WiMax. But from the current situation, "TD-SCDMA in China must be, in order to ensure that TD can gain a firm foothold, WiMax may be postponed ."
