There are more and more users installing Xp+vista dual systems, but some careless will forget the Vista account password. Because Vista is more stringent than XP login authentication, if forgotten login password, we are very difficult to enter the operating system. However, Microsoft has a sticky key vulnerability in the login interface that can be used to access Vista.
A sticky key vulnerability is when we press five SHIF in the login interface to start the sticky key (Sethc.exe in the system directory), so we can use Cmd.exe replace Sethc.exe under XP to start a command prompt, and then use the command prompt to enter Vista Reset account password.
Here the double system is assumed to be C disk for xp,d disk for Vista.
Step one: After entering the XP system, open D:windowssystem32, right-click Sethc.exe Select Properties to open the Properties Settings window, click the Security tab, and then click Advanced.
Step two: Switch to the Owner tab in the Advanced Properties Security Settings window, select the current XP login account in the Owner list, and then click Apply and Close all windows in turn.
Because the Vista installation partition is in NTFS format, we can only replace the Sethc.exe file ownership after changing it under XP. If the Properties window does not have a "security" label. You need to open Explorer, click tools → folder options, and remove the check before using simple folder sharing (recommended) in an open window.
Step three: Ditto open the Sethc.exe Properties window again and switch to the Security tab, click Add, add the current XP account to the group or user name list, and set the account to Sethc.exe Full Control permissions to allow. Then start the command prompt and enter the following command for the substitution operation:
Rename d:windowssystem32sethc.exe sethc1.exe (Rename the sticky key program to Sethc1.exe)
Copy d:windowssystem32cmd.exe d:windowssystem32sethc.exe (copy command prompt is Sethc.exe)
Fourth Step: Restart the computer login Vista, in the Vista login interface five Shif start StickyKeys, when the start of the command prompt interface, Windows operating system input Explorer.exe boot desktop. After the file has been successfully loaded, we can see the Start menu, which is the desktop (which can be seen under the Start menu user icon) in the system's built-in systems account.
