Problems with VMware virtual machine porting
The benefits of virtual machines are many, can be installed in various operating systems to learn and experiment, can be on a physical machine to dry more than one machine,
can also carry, at will copy to other machines, continue to use. However, the issues that arise in the migration copy are noteworthy:
1) The MAC address of the network card (network card number or HostID) and the IP address may change, so the license related to it should be aware of the changes
2) The portability of the system, whether it is necessary to open the virtual, not the PC or laptop for the virtual design requirements are not the same, such as notebook requirements open virtualiazation
Case:
1) The Questa could have been used, but in one of the services where VMware's Nat was turned off, it was thought to be a virus and turned off all.
Results after starting VMware, the IP address changed, so Questa license can not verify pass, reported segmentation failed error.
Modify the IP address of the/etc/hosts so that it matches the IP address assigned by VMware and solve the problem!
2) Questa originally can use, but now can not use (run Vsim), said is license.
MGCLD startup is placed in./bash_profile, after the prohibition, manually start MGCLD, prompting HostID invalid,
The original MAC address changed (HostID), regenerate license, problem solved
3) Open Laptop's virtualization
