Problems with the site's foreground cache

A website, the front page needs to use the cache!
I'm thinking now, is the fragment cache, or is the entire page cached, or are there two simultaneous?
Fragment caching is, for example, the latest news from my sidebar, I cache it in a file, and use it to read it straight in!!
The entire page cache, like Smarty kind of bar, the entire page is written to the file, open the page when read!

According to the news update frequency determines, each has the benefit, the update is not too fast, the whole page cache is better, the update uses the fragment cache more frequently, also may set up the Web server, makes the CSS, JS, the picture these unchanged files in the client cache a little longer.


