In Dreamweaver, specify where to process dynamic pages
After defining remote folders in Dreamweaver, specify the folders in which dynamic pages can be processed. Dreamweaver uses this folder to generate dynamic content and connect to the database when you work.
Generally, you specify the root folder created on the Web server because the server may also run an application server that can process dynamic pages.
Note: the root folder can be local or remote, depending on where your Web server is running.
To specify where Dreamweaver can process dynamic pages, perform the following operations:
- If the "site definition" dialog box is not displayed, open the "site definition" dialog box by selecting "site"> "manage site ", select your site from the list in the "manage sites" dialog box and click "edit ". The "site definition" dialog box appears.
- If the wizard is displayed, click "Advanced" and select "test server" from the "category" list ". The "test server" dialog box is displayed. Dreamweaver needs to test server services to generate and display dynamic content when you work. The test server can be a local computer, development server, intermediate server, or production server. As long as the test server can process the dynamic page type you plan to develop, it doesn't matter which one you choose.
- Complete the dialog box settings and click "OK ".
After the Dreamweaver site is defined, you can connect to the database
